This post carries on from my previous one which is my morning skincare routine. If you haven’t read that one yet, be sure to take a look, as there are some lovely products I chat about that you may be interested in!
Today we will be talking about the products I have been using in the evening, what I’ve been using to remove my makeup, and my favourite mask for the occasional night where my skin needs a little more love and attention. Let’s get started!
This is a new product I recently discovered, which is now my current favourite for cleansing/removing my makeup. Before that, I was using the very popular Face Halo, which I still sometimes use, I just happen to like how this product feels more gentle and pampery. It’s the Origins Original Skin Cleansing Makeup Removing Jelly with Willowherb. I discovered this from one of my favourite Youtubers who I watch regularly, so I knew that I had to give it a try. Well, the product did not disappoint. It has a jelly like formula which you rub into dry skin with a splash of water and it’s gentle enough to use over eye makeup too. The formula turns kind of milky, and then all you do afterwards is remove the product with a wet face washer or cotton pads. I really enjoy this product because I find it to be more gentle than my Face Halo or face wipes, even a micellar water. It left my skin feeling nice and soft afterwards which I adored.
This is a product I have loved now for a very long time. It’s something I will continue to re-purchase because it’s always worked well with my sensitive skin. The product I’m talking about is the Pixi Skintreats Glow Tonic. Quite a popular toner out there, and for all good reason. This is an exfoliating toner, yet it’s gentle enough to use on my skin without leaving any irritation or red marks. It also contains 5% glycolic acid, which I admit I was a bit nervous about at first, but it has never caused an issue with my skin, instead it kept the break outs away and replaced my dull looking complexion with a smooth, clear and glowing one. I also really enjoy the subtle scent, and adore the cute packaging. A must have in my books.
Now I stick with the same moisturiser which I use in the morning, and that is my Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream. So I will just copy and paste what I said in the previous post just in case you chose to read this one first! 🙂
“Now this one is a little on the pricier side, but I honestly believe it’s worth every cent. It is a really lightweight and gorgeous moisturiser, yet it’s also super hydrating which is exactly what my tired skin needs every day! The cream absorbs quickly, and leaves my skin feeling absolutely lovely and soft. I never have any issues with sensitivity either like I’ve had with other moisturisers in the past, so I’ll be hanging onto this little gem for a long time!” – Yours Truly.
Now that I am older and also somebody’s mumma, I also like to include a product for my under eyes in my evening skincare routine as well. So my current favourite is the Kiels Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado. They are not joking when they included ‘creamy’ in the title, because it really is. You only need to smallest amount because it is really thick. All I do is take my finger and gently pat it into my under eye area before I go to bed. Once again, this product is also on the pricier side, but it lasts a very long time, and I love how moisturising it is. I definitely recommend if you are on the hunt for a decent under eye cream, and don’t mind shelling out a few extra dollars. After all, your skin is important, and if you find something that works for you, in my opinion a little extra money is nothing in comparison to healthy, glowing skin.
Once a week, or whenever I feel like my skin could really benefit from a nice face mask, I’ll use my holy grail favourite which is Mask Of Magnaminty from Lush. This product is so wonderful. I just simply apply it to clean, dry skin with my fingers. It exfoliates gently, removing dead skin cells and clearing out pores. The mint scent is cool and refreshing, and once you rinse it off, your face feels so smooth and clean. It does a good job at clearing up/preventing breakouts, and also helps with the oily parts of my forehead where my nasty big pores are. I especially love to just put a podcast on and lie in the bath with this mask for the ultimate relaxation. It doesn’t react at all to my sensitive skin, instead it soothes and calms it. If I could recommend anything more from both my morning and evening skin care routine products, this by far would be it! LOVE.
So there we have it, my evening skincare routine current favourite products! I hope you enjoyed reading, have you used any of these products before yourself? I would love to hear in the comment section below! Also if you have any skin care recommendations for me to try for sensitive/dry skin, let me know as I enjoy discovering different products that can potentially become some of my new favourites!
That is all for now, have a lovely day and I’ll chat to you in my next post! A xx
